This photo shows the new pride of the Watertown, CT Fire Department, with the identification of Engine 1. Photo was taken as members performed an inspection of this handsome, GK designed and built pumper. Engine 1 went on line on Sunday, May 3rd, 1998, following a "live burn" drill.


VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

Chassis: Simon Duplex D8400 MFD, medium 4-door 6-man, tilt-cab with a raised roof. The D8400 cab features the California style high barrier doors. Chassis includes air conditioning (climate control).
Engine: Detroit Series 60, 430 HP
Brakes: Wabco Anti-Lock ABS
Transmission: Allison World 5-speed electronic.
Engine Brake: Jacobs hi-med-lo.
Chains: On-Spot automatic.
Pump: Waterous CSU 1500 GPM, single stage, with crosslays, right side trash line, rear preconnect, and rear booster reel.
Foam: Feecon class B foam system.
Ladders: (1) 24', two section, one, 14' Roof Ladder, one, 10' Folding Ladder.
Ladder Mount: Electric Drop-Down Zico, 12 VDC
Deckgun: (1) Akron Apollo deckgun, "high rise"mount, above the pump. 1250 GPM
Tank: UPF Poly II, 750 gallon with integral 60 gallon foam tank.
Body: 12 gauge stainless steel with a stainless steel substructure.
Body doors: Robinson roll-up, painted.
Shelving: Numerous adjustable shelves and slide-out trays
Siren: Federal Q2B
Generator: Onan 6.0 kW, liquid cooled, diesel, with Hannay electric rewind cable reel and (2) Quick-Raise, 750 Watt, Alpha2 series quartz lights
Warning Lights: Whelen
