Custom Built Fire Apparatus
The Gowans-Knight Company is proud of it's unique capabilities to design and built fire and rescue apparatus to meet the diverse needs of the fire/rescue service. Many of GK's employees are active Firefighters and EMT's. These folks truly understand the equipment needs of today's fire/rescue personnel. All fabrication, graphics, electrical, and painting operations are done on site, with no subcontracting of outside services. GK has built and maintains a complete PUMP TESTING facility to satisfy the needs of not only the new apparatus, but the need for pump recertification as well. HEAVY RESCUE, custom built fot the Croton Falls, NY Fire Department, features a 14 Foot Non-Walk-In, 12 Gauge Stainless Steel Body, Six Bottle Cascade System with Fill Panel, Winco,25kW Generator with Two Cord Reels; Two, 100 Watt Quartz Lights; Numerous Slide-Out Shelves, One Traverse Tool Board. Chassis is a Simon Duplex D500 Four Door, Six Person Cab. Engine: Series 60, 370 HP Matched To an Allison HT4060P World Transmission. Designed and Built at Watertown CT., by The Gowans-Knight Co. Note the low profile design with no lighting etc above the roof line. |
